Autoimmune Disease
Autoimmune disorders can be described as a condition where the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks itself, causing a systemic reaction that can affect the organs or a specific organ like the skin.
It is well documented that more women are more likely to develop auto-immune diseases than men.
The exact causes of autoimmune disease have not yet been fully understood but it has also been observed that many immune disorders affect women when they are undergoing periods of prolonged or intense stress or major hormonal changes.
Some examples of auto-immune diseases include: Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Graves disease, etc.
